As a husband, father of three, and a seasoned real estate professional with 35 years of experience, Mickey Duvall wears many hats.
Current Roles
Mickey currently serves as the Business and Economic Development Strategist at Forward Rabun, where he helps integrate tourism and economic development marketing.
Additional Positions
In addition to his role at Forward Rabun, Mickey is the President and Senior Consultant at American Consulting Group. He also works at Duvall Real Estate/Duvall Institute of Real Estate. He holds real estate licenses in both North Carolina and Georgia, and he’s a certified real estate instructor in North Carolina.
Academic and Professional Background
Mickey’s impressive resume includes being a former professor and associate director at Western Carolina University. He holds a degree in Leadership from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Additionally, Mickey is a pastor at Shoal Creek Baptist Church and Whittier, near Cherokee.
Passion for Community Development
Mickey’s true passion lies in community development. He is the former Executive Director of the Mitchell County Economic Development Commission and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Key Achievements
From 2005 to 2010, Mickey served as the Senior Economic and Community Development Director and Director of Tribal Grants for the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation. One of Mickey’s proudest achievements was his role in the development of the Cherokee Convention Center in 2016. As the Secretary of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Division of Commerce, he helped recruit the developer, secure financing, and manage the $268 million project.

Now, as a member of The Watchers Warehouse, Mickey continues to use his expertise to support local businesses. Through this platform, he stays connected with new businesses and offers his wealth of knowledge and resources to help them thrive.
