Who We Are
The Watchmaker’s Workspace, our new member-only co-working space, is now officially open and accepting applications. We kicked off our soft launch on June 1st and are all set up and ready to welcome our members. We are conveniently located right downtown Clayton, GA.
While we’re still working on getting our marketing and advertising fully operational, we already have members coming in regularly to take advantage of our high-speed Wi-Fi, printer/copier/scanner/fax (with black and white copies included in the membership), shared kitchen, seven semi-private cubicles, two work bars, and an outdoor patio.

Who was the Watchmaker?
Bill Flowers
James William Flowers, also known as Bill Flowers, was a skilled horologist and sign painter who left an indelible mark on the community of Clayton during the 1950s and 1960s.
As a dedicated watch and clock repairman, Bill operated a repair shop in the top floor of 42 E Savannah Street, where he meticulously restored timepieces for local residents. But his talents extended far beyond horology – he was also an accomplished sign painter, hand-crafting vibrant advertisements that adorned businesses throughout Clayton well into the mid-1970s.
At one point, Bill’s repair bench was even located in the back of the iconic Yo Yo Parker’s barber shop, which is now home to Main Street Chocolates. A fellow jeweler and certified watchmaker situated up the street, had the pleasure of assisting Bill in obtaining hard-to-find parts for his restorations.
Despite his impressive skills, Bill was known for his soft-spoken and kind-hearted demeanor, always donning his signature gray baseball cap as he went about his work. His legacy as a true craftsman and community fixture is one that deserves to be celebrated and preserved.
A remarkable individual with many talents, Bill made significant contributions to the town of Clayton and is the inspiration for the name of our business – The Watchmaker’s Workspace.
